Welcome, Washburn Alumni and friends! 

Below is the schedule for our weekend trip in Washington, D.C. Those italicized times are designated for attendees that will not be on the bus with the group, and those highlighted are tentative. Please note that all times are subject to change. We will keep you informed of those changes. The online schedule here will remain the most up-to-date schedule throughout the weekend. 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024

• 4:00 p.m. - Meet and greet at hotel restaurant, Fire & Sage Dining Room
  • Pick up your materials for the weekend while sharing a welcome cocktail with fellow participants and guests, Alumni Association staff, and Dean Jeff Jackson before departing for the alumni event. 
  • Please note: Fire & Sage Dining Room is temporarily located on the 3rd Floor while under renovations
• 5:00 p.m. - Bus departs the hotel for the alumni event at Clyde's of Gallery Place
• 5:30 p.m. - Alumni event begins at Clyde's of Gallery Place | 707 7th Street NW, Washington, DC 20001
• 7:30 p.m. - Bus returns to hotel from alumni event

Friday, Feb. 16, 2024

• 7:00 a.m. - Bus departs hotel for Supreme Court
  • We will be dropped off at the base of the Capitol and then walk uphill to the Supreme Court
• 7:25 a.m. - For those not riding on the bus, please meet on the steps of the Supreme Court  | 1 First St NE, Washington, DC 20543
• 7:30 a.m. - Arrival at security checkpoint
• 8:20 a.m. - Escorted to our assigned room for breakfast
• 8:30 a.m. - Breakfast, greetings, photos, etc.
• 9:20 a.m. - Clerk of the Court addresses the room, guests are escorted to the courtroom
• 10:00 a.m. - Court gavels
• 11:30 a.m. - Bus departs for the Army and Navy Club where we will have lunch together as a group
• 11:50 a.m. - For those not riding on the bus, meet at the Army and Navy Club | 901 17th St NW, Washington, DC 20006
• 1:50 p.m. - Bus departs the Army and Navy Club for the U.S. Capitol
• 2:30 p.m. - Meet at the U.S. Capitol for security screening and tour
• 2:50 p.m. - Tour of the U.S. Capitol
  • The tour includes a 45-minute guided walking tour as well as a 13-minute orientation film
  • Capitol Visitor Center, East Front plaza of the U.S. Capitol at First Street and East Capitol Street
• 4:30 p.m. - Bus departs U.S. Capitol, returns to the hotel
• 5:30 p.m. - Alumni Association staff and Dean Jeff Jackson will host dinner prior to the monuments tour at Capitol City Brewing Company near the hotel
  • 1100 New York Ave NW #710W, Washington, DC 20005
  • You are invited to join us for dinner or dine elsewhere on your own
• 7:00 p.m. - Bus departs hotel for Moonlight Tour of the Monuments
• 9:30 p.m. - Bus returns to the hotel

Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024

• 9:45 a.m. - Bus departs hotel for White House tour
• 10:10 a.m. - Meet at White House Tour entrance in Sherman Park to proceed to security clearance | 15th Street NW and Alexander Hamilton Place NW
  • If arriving by rideshare, use the White House Visitor Center as the drop-off address of 1450 Pennsvlvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20230, then proceed to the tour entrance mentioned above
• 10:30 a.m. - First tour group's scheduled time
• 11:00 a.m. - Second tour group's scheduled time
• 12:00 p.m. - Bus returns to the hotel
