Washburn University Homecoming 2023

We are excited to welcome alumni and friends back to campus for Homecoming 2023. Make sure to mark your calendars for this special event as we also inaugurate Dr. JuliAnn Mazachek as Washburn's 15th president. It will be a weekend full of great events!

Plan to join us for the following alumni events:

Friday, Oct. 27, 2023
3 p.m. - Inauguration of Dr. JuliAnn Mazachek, Washburn's 15th President 
Lee Arena on Washburn University's campus
Receiving line and Reception immediately following. The event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

Please note the regular After Hours will be hosted on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023. There will not be an After Hours on Friday, Oct. 27 due to the inauguration and reception.

Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023
8 a.m. - 10 a.m. - Pancake Feed and Bloody Mary Cash Bar
Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center   
$5 for adults, free for children 5 and under
Registration is offered below, but also available at the door. 

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Homecoming Tailgate
Memorial Union Lawn
Includes live entertainment, tailgate decoration competition, and inflatables for children. 
The Alumni Association tailgate is free for alumni dues-paid members, $5 for non-members.
This year, Washburn is focused on revamping its traditional parade and making way for an enhanced tailgate celebration aimed at fostering more community interaction and creating a fan-filled experience for all attendees including families and children. No parade will take place, and Washburn asks alumni, families and students to decorate a tailgating spot on the Memorial Union Lawn. Judging takes place starting at 11 a.m. and prizes will be awarded. 

1 p.m. - Football game vs. Northwest Missouri State
